Modern operating systems use a graphical user interface, or GUI a GUI lets you use your mouse to click icons, buttons, and menus, and everything is clearly displayed on the screen using a combination of graphics and text. The one of the Important in OS is Software Updates because the OS make sure that your application version is latest so that the application have a new feature also by updating the software your software become fast to use and it less a bug.
